Two Minute Play

Narrator is talking from and over head speaker. Crystal in a spot light. People in corner of stage. When they come into the scene raise light on stage. Every time the narrator speaks, everyone on stage freezes.

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a girl named Crystal.

Crystal: HI! (waves vigorously)

Narrator: This girl was from a far away land….

Crystal: I AM FROM FAR AWAY! (points far away)

Narrator: One day this girl moved to America and began going to school.

Crystal: I LOVE SCHOOL! (gives two thumbs up)

Narrator: On her first day of school she went up to a group of people who looked nice and said hello in the only way she knew how.

Girl slaps three people all standing in a circle.

People: OWWWW!!

Crystal: HIII NEW FRIENDS!! (smile & wave)

Narrator: The group of people just stood there shocked and amazed that a person would ever do that.

Dramatic pause of standing and staring.

Narrator: Luckily before Crystal got too embarrassed, the bell rang for class.

RIINNGGG!

Narrator: Now the new girl was left all alone in the halls of a new and un fumilure place. Untill….

Crystal nervously stands in the hall. Beck skipps up to her.

Becky: Hi! Are you new?

Crystal: Uh, yeah. Can you help me find my class?

Becky: Of course!

Narrator: So from that day forward the two girls were great friends!

Girls hug!

Narrator: But then one day the girl slapped Becky. Becky didn’t know what she did wrong to deserve that and was so upset that she stopped talking to her friend. Crystal didn’t know why Becky didn’t talk to her the next day, so she asked:

Crystal: Becky, what did I do wrong?

Becky: What do you mean? YOU HIT ME!

Crystal: You mean this? (slaps Becky again)

Becky super shocked face

Crystal: That’s just a tradition from my home country. It is a sign of endearment.

Becky: Well here we don’t do that, its a sign of hatred.

Crystal: Is that why those girls didn’t like me on my first day when I “slapped” them?

Becky: Probably!

Girls laugh!

Narrator: From this moment on the girls stayed great friends and Crystal never slapped anyone ever again.
