To Go Without Forever

Brief Background: Happens in a High School.

Two people walk onto stage while starting dialogue.

Girl: “I hate you, Siff.”

Boy: “I know you actually love me.”

Boy: Grabs her hand. The two stop walking.

Girl: “…” (Glares at him. Doesn’t actually say “…”)

Boy: “We’ve been going out for three years. Come on, say it Jules.” (Sounds kind of desperate)

Girl: “Tell me what you’ve been hiding.”

Boy: “Say I love you first.”

Girl: Sighs “Are you cheating?” (Sounds tired)

Boy: “No. I love you. We spend all of our time together.” Has more “pip” in his voice than before.

Girl: “Fine. What are you hiding? You’ve been acting strange.”
Boy: “Say I love you first.”

Girl: “I love…”

Boy: “Yes?” (Waiting for an “I love you”.)

Girl: “Broken glass.”

Boy: Has a disappointed face.
Boy: “Ugh. I bet you couldn’t go a week without talking to me.”

Girl: “I bet you I could.” (Sounds confident.)

Boy: “Then it’s on. One week. Stop by my locker next Friday, if you can avoid me for a week.”

Girl: “Deal.” (Smiles)

The two walk off to opposite sides off stage.

The girl and a new guy walk past each other and then walk off stage.

Girl: “Hey. Sup.”

The girl and a guy pass again and this time she asks him a question.

Girl: “Have you seen Siff?”

Passerby: “No”

Walks off stage again

The girl walks onstage. There is a piece of paper on the middle of the stage.

Girl: “Ha! I knew I’d win.” Says this confidently and happily

Girl: “Siff?” Looks around looking for her boy friend

Girl: “Oh what’s this?” Picks up paper
Girl: Reads out loud. Eyes water midway.“Jules. When you’re reading this, I’m probably long gone. I have terminal cancer. You’ve gone a week without me, you can go the rest of your life without me. I’ll miss you…”

Girl: Falls to knees. Sadness
