Carpe Diem

Some kids are sitting in a “classroom”. The teacher is in the front rambling on about something boring.

Main: “Ugh. This class is so long.” S/he leans over

Friend: “Yeah, I know. It’s so boring!”

Main: “I wish this could be like five minutes long.” Says a bit too loudly

Teacher: “Excuse me?” Teacher walks over. “You know, one day you’re going to look back and say, ‘Why didn’t I listen?’ Life is short. Take every opportunity that you can get.” Kind of a one on one lecture with student.

Main: “Um, ok.” Doesn’t really care

Teacher: “Um, ok? That’s all I get? When was the last time you told your mother you loved her?”

Main: “Oh, I don’t know. Last…” Trails off

Teacher: “Kid, don’t waste your life.”

Kid sits there thinking.

New scene:

Mother is sitting in a chair. Kid walks in.

Main: “Hey mom!”

Mother: “Hi”

Main: “Hey, um I haven’t told you this recently but I…” Says sort of awkwardly and is interrupted by robber

Robber: “Give me all your money.”

Struggle happens between mother and robber. Robber hits mother on head and runs away. Mother falls to ground. Dead.

Main: “Mom?” Borderline crying

Main: “I learned my lesson!” Says upwards as to some higher being.
