Karma

One group of five teenage girls is standing around in the cafeteria. They’re all whispering for a few minutes, looking around. At the same time, one girl, very nerdy, is by herself, carrying her books close to her chest. Stands for about 30 seconds.

First popular girl: “Oh my god, will you look at her?”

Second popular girl: “Yeah, that’s Kelly Hutchinson. She’s in my English class. She is so weird.”

Other popular girls look over and stare, while she is buried in her books.

First popular girl: “Can you look at what she’s wearing? God I can’t believe she can go out like that in public.”

Nerdy girl gets up from her table and starts to walk up to the lunch line.

Third popular girl: “Oh look, she’s walking up to get more food. Again.”

Nerdy girl is walking, slips on a banana peel.

Group of popular girls: “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Fourth popular girl: “What a loser!”

Fifth popular girl: “Aw, no one’s helping her up. I feel bad-not!”

The nerdy girl gets up, looks around to see if anyone saw, and embarrassed, she sees the girls laughing at her.

After laughing and staring and pointing at the nerdy girl, the group of popular girls quiet up.

First popular girl: “Oh my god there’s Blake Smith. He’s the hottest guy at school. Watch carefully girls, I’m gonna get him to ask me out.”

Second popular girl: “I mean, how could he not? You look fabulous today!”

First popular girl looks back and laughs, flipping her hair, as the rest of the popular girls stare at her and watch her. As she’s walking towards Blake Smith, she slips on the same banana peel. Blake Smith turns around and starts to laugh with all of his friends. The group of popular girls gathers towards her and tries to help her up. Lastly, the nerdy girl turns around, and smirks.
