Restaurant Talk

Characters: Jacob, Jack, Nate, Ron, Bella, Brittany, and Waitress

Props: Table, Chairs, Napkin, and Tray

Jacob Thinking: Sitting at the table at the local restaurant with a couple of friends on a Saturday night is a fun time. There is nothing like just hanging with your friends enjoying a nice meal and just talking about life. I feel I will miss the days talking to childhood friends and not being able to have dinner with them anymore. I feel as if it will be much different going off to school and not being able to talk with your friends about anything you want. However, I feel as though I should enjoy the time that I have with my friends and just be in the moment instead of living for the future. Now, I want to enjoy my meal.

Waitress: What will you all be having this evening?

Jacob: Cheeseburger for me

Nate: Chicken Fingers and a Pepsi

Ron: Shrimp

Jack: I’ll have a cheeseburger as well

Jacob Thinking: As the food is being prepared, we sit around this table at the upper floor of the restaurant. I like just being able to chill with my friends as I watch the Sprite NBA Slam Dunk Contest. When our food is brought to us, the waitress brings it on a huge plate.

Waitress: Here is your food. Oh, and those girls over there wanted me to give you their number. Here, text them.

Jacob: Lets Text them

Ron: Alright, I’ll call them, what is the number?

Jack: 555-0376

Brittany: Hello? This is Brittany, the one in the pink over here, and my friend Bella is in the blue. Which ones are you?

Ron: I’m the one wearing green, my friend Jacob is grey, Jack is green too, and Nate is blue.

Brittany: Well, we have to go to a party tonight, but we should all chill sometime. I think that would be fun.

Ron: Yeah, that would be.

In the next couple of weeks, everyone hangs out and has a great time. That is what the teenage life is all about, just having fun. Nothing is better than hanging with your friends. Ron and Brittany ended up dating. Who knows, that could happen to anyone, which is the fun about being a teenager.

Awkward Conversation

Characters: Jane and George

Props: 2 chairs

When George and Jane were dating, they thought each other were the one. They were deeply in love and they were together for many years. They ended up breaking up after they decided they wanted to see other people. They then got into a fight and haven’t seen eachother in 2 years. This, is their awkward conversation between the two of them after 2 years.

Jane: George? George Johnson?

George: Hey Jane, how are you?

Jane: Good, it has been a while since I have seen you! I haven’t seen you since…

George: I know it has been a while. 2 years now?

Jane: Yeah around that

George: What have you been up to? Are you still working at the diner?

Jane: Yeah, trying to find a new job though. With these tough times its hard to keep living a good life on the diner paycheck

George: Yeah I know what you mean

Jane: What are you up to now?

George: Still working at the bank. It is paying very well. I have been manager now for 2 years. I got promoted soon after we…

Jane: Why have you not told me until now then?

George: Because I didn’t know that you were concerned what I was doing

Jane: You know I have always cared about you, and don’t even try to tell me that I haven’t.

George: You haven’t, why did you break up with me then? I thought you were the one for me

Jane: Apparently not

George: Now that I hear you talk I am definitely glad that you dumped me

Jane: What is that supposed to mean?

George: That I don’t like you

Jane: Oh, thanks

George: Im sorry, I didn’t mean that. You know Ive always liked you as a friend, but I don’t see us getting back together.

Jane: Youre right (Jane said tearing up)

George: Sorry for making you cry. I have to go now, it was good to see you

Jane: You too, we should hang out some time

George: No, I don’t think that would be a good idea. Bye

  1. The second play is slightly more interesting than the first one.
