The Beak

(Sam and his beaked girlfriend are sitting at a table. In walks Kevin)

Kevin: So Sam how is it going with your girlfriend? You know..what’s her name? (whispers to Sam, while looking at the girl)

Sam: It’s wonderful. I know I only met her two weeks ago but man, its been amazing!(holding on to his girlfriends hand, smiling)

Kevin: Really? So it’s never crossed your mind… that you know…(looks at the girl from his corner of his eye)

Sam: (Interrupting) Every time I see her it’s like a breathe of fresh air.

Kevin: You know… (Nervously)

Sam: I know she’s absolutely wonderful. (Excited)

Kevin: That’s not what am going for actually..

Sam: (turns to Kevin) What, then your immensely jealous and wish that you could have her? (Angrily)

Kevin: (offended) That would be a definite NO! I am trying to help you here! (almost screaming)

(The tension has been rising Sam finally realizes that Kevin is trying to say something)

Sam: What?! I love her.

Kevin: Ahh, I never said you didn’t

Sam: Then what?

Kevin: (losing his confidence) You know people have been talking..

Sam: Really, does everybody feel the need to plot to steal her from me that bad?

Kevin: Ahh, still a no what am trying to say that people have noticed…you know.. her..

Sam: (interrupting) Her. That’s what am saying they noticed that she’s gorgeous (stretches out the word)

Kevin: (blurts out) you girlfriend has a beak! Like a BIRD!

Sam: (looking over at his girlfriend, eyes open wide) Nooooo. (Shaking his head)

Kevin: Really you just looked right at her!! (Amazed by Sam’s denial)

Sam: And??

Kevin: (gets up in resignation) You know what! Don’t say I didn’t tell you!

(beaked girlfriend ways good-bye to Kevin as he stomps out)

  1. Interesting premise but could do more with it. Maybe she chirps like a bird?
