Texter: oh he can’t hear you.

Foreigne: why? (Looks confused)

Texter: he’s plugged in! (Walks away texting)

Foreigner: sigh looks back at i-pod

Ipod: (glances up) oh! You looking for something?

Foreigner: Yeah! I’m looking for my locker…(scrambles for a piece of paper)

Ipod: oh that’s okay I’m sure someone will help you. Gotta get to class! (Talks turned around.. leaving)

Foreigner: whispers: me too… L

Later in the day in the cafeteria

Foreigner walks in and sees someone on his laptop

Foreigner: hi! Can I sit here?

Laptop: huh? Oh yeah sure... (Distracted by his laptop)

Foreigner: I’m new here J

Pause for 3 seconds…

Foreigner: well it went all right.

Pause… how’s your day going?

Texter: yeah! What’s up?

Foreigner: oh not much, my day hasn’t been going that-

Texter( cuts foreigner off): sorry, I’m kinda busy now. Good luck! Walks away.

Foreigner: (sighs) turns around to exit cafeteria

Kid with i-pod sees foreigner and walks up to them

I-pod: hey! Look I heard u were trying to talk to me while I was plugged in. sorry! Its just kinda the way it works here.

Foreigner: oh that’s all right…
