(working title)

Actor 1: So this one day I was on my way to my Math class, man I hate that class, anyway, I was on my way to Math class when all of a sudden my friend Norman out of nowhere just—well jeez I don’t even know exactly what happened he just…

Suddenly an orange rolls onstage and hits the actor’s foot. The confused actor reaches down and picks up the orange and studies it. Then, a beeping sound comes on. The startled actor then realizes that the beeping is coming from the orange and frantically examines it to find how this is happening. The beeping gets faster. The actor even more frantically begins peeling the orange to try to see if the beeping mechanism is somewhere inside the orange. The beeping gets even faster and louder. In a hysterical frenzy the actor begins ripping open the orange to try and find something inside, thinking that the orange must be some sort of bomb they have to disable. In an act of hopelessness, they throw the remnants of the orange offstage while they duck and cover.

The beeping stops and a few moments go by…

Actor 2 comes onstage with a pitcher of orange juice and pours himself (or herself) a glass and looks up at Actor 1.
